Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our internal Finance Operations Team. This Vice President-level role will support the Assistant Controller and will be integral in managing daily accounting functions, including accounts receivable and managing all tax compliance within our organization. The Accounting Manager will work closely with external tax advisors and assist with various projects, ensuring continuity and accuracy in our accounting processes.
This role will be based in our NYC HQ and is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely 2 days a week, blending the best of both worlds for efficiency and collaboration. Ideal candidates should be local to the desired location (NYC).

What You’ll Do:
Daily Accounting Operations
Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Prepare and enter journal entries (JEs) accurately and timely
Provide support and guidance to team members, facilitating their professional development
Collaborate with the Assistant Controller for the review and quality control of accounting entries and financial reports, proactively identifying issues and recommending solutions
Audit Support
Assist the Assistant Controller and Controller with audit preparations, ensuring all documentation is organized and readily accessible
Help coordinate with external auditors during the audit process, responding to inquiries and providing necessary information and support
Accounts Receivable Management
Lead and manage the accounts receivable (AR) process, ensuring effective collection and reporting
Work closely with the AR team to monitor aging reports and resolve discrepancies
Project Support
Assist with month-end close responsibilities, filling in for the Assistant Controller and performing related tasks as needed to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Support various accounting projects and special initiatives, including process improvements and system implementations
Manage ad hoc reporting requests related to financial performance and compliance
Participate in cross-functional projects that require accounting expertise and input
Tax Compliance and Reporting
Manage the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns
Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations
Maintain organized records of all tax compliance documents, correspondence, and filings
Support ad hoc reporting requests related to tax compliance and audits
You Have:
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus on accounts receivable and tax compliance, and a strong career trajectory throughout
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with high attention to detail
Ability to learn and work with scalable systems and evolving processes in a high-growth environment

The annual salary for this role ranges from: $140,000 to $150,000 + benefits + bonus. Actual compensation packages are determined by evaluating a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, years and depth of experience, education, certifications, cost of labor and internal equity.
