Requirements

- *3+ years of experience in cloud financial management, cloud engineering, or related roles
- *Hands-on experience implementing FinOps practices and optimizing cloud costs
- *Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting
- *Deep knowledge of cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake)
- *Proficiency with cloud cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Databricks cost data)
- *Experience with modern cloud architectures including containerization and serverless
- *Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- *Ability to develop effective reporting schemes/metrics to maintain strong usage control
- *Collaborative mindset with comfort working across engineering, finance, and client teams

About the Role
We are seeking a Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer to serve as the day‑to‑day accountable leader for cloud financial management across the enterprise and at a client level. Partnering closely with the CIO, this role owns cloud spend visibility, optimization, forecasting, and FinOps execution. The role focuses on driving cost efficiency, improving transparency, and embedding financial accountability across engineering, implementation, and client teams.
Your day to day
Create cloud cost optimization framework and Governance mechanisms.
Own enterprise and client‑level cloud spend, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Implement and scale FinOps best practices to improve cost transparency and accountability
Engage with cloud vendors and partners to leverage pricing programs, incentives, credits, and optimization recommendations
Proactively embed FinOps‑aware architecture through shift‑left cost considerations in design and planning
Define cloud cost performance KPIs and track against agreed KPIs.
Analyze cloud usage, architecture, and cost drivers to identify optimization opportunities
Develop and execute cost optimization strategies (e.g., cleanup, scheduling, rightsizing, reservations, cloud‑native services)
Partner with client teams to quantify cloud cost versus business value and ROI
Collaborate with engineering, finance, and implementation teams to align on cloud financial management
Produce regular reporting on cloud spend, savings opportunities, and financial performance
Manage and leverage cloud cost management tools to monitor and control spend
Educate teams on FinOps principles and promote cost‑aware decision making
What You Bring to the Team
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience
3+ years of experience in cloud financial management, cloud engineering, or related roles
Hands‑on experience implementing FinOps practices and optimizing cloud costs
Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting
Deep knowledge of cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake)
Proficiency with cloud cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Databricks cost data)
