What We Need We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to shape how our AAA sports title looks and feels on screen — from cameras and cinematics to crowds, commentary, and broadcast-quality presentation. You’ll lead a team of engineers while staying deeply hands-on, partnering with art, design, animation, and production to bring an authentic broadcast experience to life in Unreal Engine 5. We need someone who combines technical breadth with strong leadership and a passion for crafting polished player-facing experiences. What You Will Do Lead a team of engineers building presentation systems in UE5 Develop cameras, cinematics, replays, and broadcast-style presentation features Build crowd, commentary, and stadium atmosphere systems Drive technical direction for the presentation area alongside studio leadership Partner with art, design, animation, and production to deliver features Oversee integration between DCC tools and the game engine Mentor and develop engineers, including managing direct reports Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering quality across the team Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit 8+ years of software engineering experience in game development and proven expertise in C++ and Python People management experience balancing hands-on work with leadership Deep familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 or similar game engines Broad experience across presentation systems like cameras, cinematics, or crowds Strong understanding of tech art, animation, and DCC pipelines Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Bonus Points Experience developing broadcast-style presentation for sports games Familiarity with audio systems, commentary engines, or crowd simulation Track record of shipping AAA titles in a leadership role Passion for playing or watching sports The pay range for this position in British Columbia at the start of employment is expected to be between $114,300 and $169,140 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for employees in regular roles may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, provided that temporary or intern roles will not be eligible for many of these payments or benefits. Details of participation in compensation and benefit plans (if applicable) will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
