Description
About the Role
Abnormal AI is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Critical Email Products (CEP) team.
Our mission is to help customers strengthen protection and visibility across email by delivering Secure Email Gateway (SEG) products that integrate seamlessly into enterprise environments. The team builds reliable, scalable systems that enable fast onboarding, dependable operation, and a smooth protection experience, with an initial focus on launching URL Rewriting and owning Inbox Insights as core capabilities.
You’ll lead this team end-to-end, owning the execution and delivery of core CEP capabilities. You’ll partner closely with Detection, Product, and Platform teams to bring new features to life while ensuring our systems remain robust and efficient at scale. Near-term priorities include driving SEG solutions like DMARC and Inbox Insights toward GA, while laying foundational services to expand our solutions to other mailbox providers (Gmail).
Success in this role requires exceptional communication and collaboration skills. You will work across multiple time zones and functions to align priorities, manage stakeholders, and ensure seamless execution across teams. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading full stack teams in enterprise SaaS environments and thrives in a distributed, fast-moving setting where reliability, coordination, and customer experience go hand in hand.

Take ownership of operational health by defining key metrics, improving systems reliability, and ensuring seamless releases
Proactively identify and close process gaps. Introduce tools or workflows that improve speed, quality, and clarity
Build scalable processes for launches, incident response, and customer support collaboration
Leadership and Collaboration
Translate long-term objectives into actionable strategies and measurable outcomes for the team
Partner with Product, Design, and Architecture to build cohesive, customer-centric solutions
